Serbian President Vucic seeks NATO approval to send troops to Kosovo

Tensions are escalating in northern Kosovo, as Serbian protesters block roads for a second day. Multiple shots and explosions were also reported after the arrest of a former Serb officer.

Trouble has flared up in the region after decisions by the Kosovar government which ethnic Serb’s percieve to be discriminatory. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has asked for NATO’s permission to deploy a thousand troops to Kosovo, claiming it will help stabilise the region.
