To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the live-action film, I take a look at the history, inception and development of Dr Seuss’s original Christmas book, and its subsequent television and movie adaptations – including Chuck Jones’ 1966 animated special starring Boris Karloff, Ron Howard’s 2000 live-action feature starring Jim Carrey, and the 2018 CG animated film starring Benedict Cumberbatch.
