On December 14, 2024, Bruno Surace defeated Jaime Munguia by KO in the 6th round in a super middleweight bout at Estadio Caliente in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico. Munguia was controlling the fight and had even scored a knockdown earlier, but Surace shocked everyone by landing a devastating right hand in the sixth round, dropping Munguia and leaving him unable to beat the count in one of the biggest upsets of the year.
